Light is Enformy
Light limits and enforms the universe
On the Universe Today website, astrophysicist Paul Sutter’s article : Is Anything Absolute With Relativity¹, described how the speed of light became a universal constant for astrophysics. He began : “Once Newton hit upon his idea for a conception of gravity, a force emanating from and connecting to all objects, he needed a universe to make his force universal. . . . And so Newton conceived of the cosmos as a vast fixed grid, a series of universal rules and master clocks, and absolute reference frame from which all other measures could be taken. (This is not meant to be taken literally). A few centuries later : “In discarding the notions of absolute time and space, Einstein did gain something for his effort. Not all things are relative; there are some constants in the universe. Namely, the laws of physics. All observers great and all, slow and fast, pointed and directionless, all observers agree on the commonality of the laws of physics.”
Isaac Newton took the whole universe as a reference grid against which all motion is measured. Then, a century later, James Clerk Maxwell concluded that the speed of light is not relative to anything else. So that constant C (299,792,458 meters per second) became the measuring stick for all position changes in the Cosmos. And, in the 20th century, Einstein established that imaginary mathematical grid, or field, as the rule against which everything else that changes can be measured. Shortly thereafter, quantum physicists were forced by the evidence of their experiments to conclude that material atoms & particles are not physically fundamental. Instead, they agreed that something similar to Newton’s invisible intangible mathematical cosmic grid² was the universal standard for all of reality.
Eventually, the notion of an empty statistical Field³ of Potential replaced the ancient notion of a hard indivisible Atom as the foundation of Physics. Ironically, the metaphorical fields themselves are not physical, but meta-physical⁴ . In the Enformationism thesis, I have concluded that Light itself is the universal reference field, as well as the basic form of causal Energy. Hence, Light is the universal measuring stick of all things. Another way to look at it is to view light-energy as the “fabric” of space-time, as it interweaves all matter into a universal system. Light is the background reference for everything in the world, because, wherever you look, light is already there. But, it’s invisible until detected by a sentient sensor, such as the human eye.
You could say that the human viewpoint is a set of receptors (retina) and conceptors (neural net) of incoming light/energy. So, each mind is a relative reference frame within the universal field of reality. Hence, light is constant and every-thing else is compared to it. Therefore, for the purposes of my thesis, I’m not talking about just visible light (photons), but the universal carrier of Information : EnFormAction. My own term for the universal field of potential is Enformy. And the enformed universe itself is called Enformity. Like Newton’s reference grid, Light is not an object moving at the speed of light. Instead, all objects in the world are moving at light-speed relative to the constant reference Field.
